Rock of Ages has been flush with high-profile visitors recently (including Susan Sarandon, Paris Hilton, jukebox hero Mick Jones and a swarm of Major League sluggers), and the onslaught continued July 13, when rockers Chad Kroeger and Ryan Peake of Nickelback dropped in at the Brooks Atkinson Theatre to see what the buzz has been about. ROA star Constantine Maroulis is all too familiar with the band—he was voted off American Idol after singing the Nickelback single “This Is How You Remind Me.” The actor even apologized to Kroeger and Peake for “butchering” their song on live TV. (For the record, Maroulis was set to wail on a different Nickelback tune, but was forced to switch songs before the live Idol broadcast.) The visitors laughed off the sour notes and said no apology was necessary, praising Maroulis and the cast for their face-melting performances. Just in case the Rock of Ages gang wasn’t satisfied with two chart-topping talents, Grammy winner Phil Collins and pop artist Jessie James were also on hand to show their love.
